Readings and Prayers for 4th January 2026
It has been three months this week of journeying and serving with you all in our Ashbourne Group of Parishes. It has been a steep learning curve and a whirlwind! Thank you all for your warm welcome.
Some weeks ago I wrote a piece for the newsletter titled: an entangled church. It was my response, if you like, as a prayer to share my new understanding with you.
Well, Christmas Day is a week on Thursday. I can't believe how quickly the days have flown by! Maybe it's because we're all so busy at this time of year.
The annual Celebration of Animals Service was held on 7th December at St Oswald's, hosted by Ashbourne Animal Welfare. It was lovely to have so many animals in church.
Come into St Oswald's to find the Reindeer hidden around church. Pick up a trail form at the main door and see how many you can find.
Nan had spent the day getting the farm kitchen ready for the annual Christmas party that celebrates the arrival of Jesus. The party usually lasts all night.
Twenty five beautifully decorated Christmas Trees can be found in St Oswald's until 5th January 2026, each one decorated by a local organisation.
