Last month, Andy Marshall, an Architectural and Heritage photographer, who specialises in church photography, came from Manchester to spend the day in St Oswald's taking photographs, both with camera and drone. Andy provided his services for free, as part of Member Powered Photography, funded by subscribers to his online membership site, which highlights projects that might otherwise be unseen.
You can see some of the photographs from his visit below, and others are used on this website.
Andy talks a lot about genius loci, the spirit of a place, and has a knack of seeing what others might miss. He brings a unique perspective to everything he photographs, as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of church history and architecture.
We are immensely grateful to have had this opportunity, and to be able to share views of the church from unique perspectives, and to be able to use the photographs to tell the story of St Oswald's.
